Cletus has been in the Social Sector for the past 20 years with experience ranging from Community Mobilization to Research and Documentation along with skills in Proposal
Development and guiding Partners in the field of Results based Methodology. He believes that true change can emerge when the community decides to take up ownership of the process.
Cletus holds a Masters degree in Social Work from the Mumbai University through Nirmala Niketan and later acquired skills in Research through a Post Graduate Diploma in Research Methodology. Initially he worked with the Western Region Social Service Forum as a Program Coordinator where he developed Proposals and organized their meetings and training programmes. He went on to sharpen his skills as a Research Fellow with Indian NGOs.com and a Documentation Officer with Vatsalya Foundation.
With Don Bosco Development Society he worked as a Researcher on many independent impact assessment and needs analysis studies of their institutions and also contributed to the Participative Strategic Planning Process of the Mumbai Province in preparation for their internal meetings. Intermittently he upgraded his studies through Post Graduate Studies in Human Resource Management through St. Xavier’s Management Institute, Mumbai and Post Graduate Studies in Human Rights through Indian Institute of Human Rights, Delhi.
He joined Caritas as a Regional Officer and later was given the responsibility of West Zone Manager for Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa. He assisted the Director of Social Work – Community Mobilization at Swades Foundation to monitor staff and the Self Help Groups. He further coordinated and set up a Community Centre with the community focusing on knowledge, livelihood and training opportunities at one of the villages in Mhasla, Raigad Dt.
Rophian is a graduate in commerce from Mumbai university .She has worked with ICICI Bank as an Office Executive for over 2 years. She has also had a short stint at CAMS Mumbai as a Customer Service Executive for 5 months.
Rophian has been working with Centre for Social Action for 7 years. Apart from being a master in managing the organizations finance and administration,she has a good command over local languages Hindi, Marathi
Mishal has completed her Masters in social work from the Indira Gandhi National open University (IGNOU), Delhi. She has worked with various community centres which focus on issues connected with women, children and youth. She has been working with Centre for Social Action for the past 12 years and has has been actively involved in facilitating the Bal Sansad programme in Mumbai & Dharavi Island. Presently she is the coordinator of Community Centres in Western Suburbs. She is well versed with the local languages Marathi and Hindi.
Sheetal Ujwala Sham Palande – Thane District Program Coordinator
Sheetal has completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Social work from College of Social Work, Nirmala Niketan and is also a Post graduation in Health & Development and Social Work in the field of Mental Health from Tata Institute of Social Sciences . She has over five and a half years experience in various organizations such as Women’s Research & Action Group, Chetana Foundation and Nirav Modi Foundation. She has worked with communities on various issues like education, urban community development, personality and career counseling with adolescents, issues relating to physical and mental health ,women empowerment and skill development. At CSA she is the Programme Coordinator and handles the Programme Area’s of Women Empowerment and the Right to Sustainable Livelihood. She is well versed with the local languages Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati.
Marcus is an Office Assistant cum driver with Centre for Social Action since the past 4 years. Formerly he has worked with St. Catherine’s Home for 10 years in the capacity of a driver. He hails from Palghar. He is honest, trustworthy and sincere and very experienced at the wheel.
Rasika Silva Bhandari
Rasika completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Shankar Narayan College and thereafter completed her Master’s in Social Work from College of Social Work Nirmala Niketan. During her training in social work she interned with Muncipal Corporation Of Greater Mumbai and St. Catherine’s Home. She has experience working with Self Help Groups, Children in need of care, protection and community development. As a social worker at CSA, she works in Dharavi Island community centers. These community centers focus on issues related to women, children, senior citizens, youth and married couples. Rasika is fluent in Hindi, English, Marathi and the local Marathi dialect of Dharavi Island.
